1. Requirement for test materials: bring one item to test on Tuesday, Sept. 28 for a 10 point grade. Examples are sunscreen, plexiglass, plastic, eyeglasses, sunglasses, old clothing, glass. Testing clothing you are wearing is worth 5/10. Two or more items gets 15/10.
2. Background information for introduction. Possible topics:
a. What are UVA and UVB?
b. How does the atmosphere absorb UV?
c. How do chemicals and materials absorb UV?
d. What type of UV spectrum is produced by the sun?
e. How does UV affect people?
